Patagonia Farming – Potable Water | Print |
Patagonia Farming is a cut vegetable packing facility for Pick ‘n Pay and SPAR.  They use borehole water in their facility to wash and pack all their vegetables.

Problem

The borehole water is contaminated with Total Bacteria, E-Coli and Coli.

Solution

We installed a HG102 controller trolley on the incoming water reservoir to control the pH(7.2) and the Chlorine level(2ppm).  This ensures that all the borehole water is chlorinated before use in the facility.

Discussion

Frexus Granular is currently hand dosed into containers where vegetables are washed in.  Dosing between 100-150ppm Free Chlorine.  Patagonia is looking to install a HG602 in future to automate the dosing of high chlorine for vegetable washing.
