Poultry Broiler Farms – Potable Water | Print |
Supreme Poultry has one of the biggest contract grower broiler farms in South Africa.  They grow approximately 600 000 chicks at a time on a 35day cycle.

Problem

It’s crucial to keep the water clean and the pH level as low as possible during the 35day cycle.  The untreated water comes from a borehole with a high count of Total bacteria and a very high pH(8.8).

Solution

We installed a HG102 controller trolley on the incoming water reservoir to control the pH(6.8) and the Chlorine level(2ppm).  The low pH helps the digestive system of the chicks and ensures that the chicks drink enough water.  This in turn results in the chickens consuming the right amount of feed and gaining more weight in a short as possible time(PEF).
